2017 Symphony on Ice
Audition Schedule: Sunday, September 24th, 10am-12pm
Auditions will be held at the The Steel Ice Center located at 320 East 1st Street Bethlehem, Pa 18018. We will start the process off of the ice and then go on the ice.
Skaters must have the minimum requirement of a flip jump. If skaters do not they can participate in the Perky Penguins.
A $75 fee must accompany your application; this fee assists with covering cost of the ice, costumes and any other items that may be needed for the show. Show registration forms and fees must be in before auditioning.
We will run through individual and group elements. The purpose of this audition is to assist Angela in setting the groups and choosing soloists, small and large group number participants.
Soloists will be selected based on several factors, including (but not limited to) skating strength and ability, presentation, age, level, experience, and attitude during the audition. We are looking for skaters who show strong “stage presence” and theatrics, so smile and express yourself! Having a solo in a past year does not guarantee one this year as the set up of the show is different each year depending on the music provided by the symphony.
Skaters auditioning should be committed to the show in general. All parts are important and the director makes every effort to highlight a skater’s skills and strengths. By choosing to audition, it is expected that skaters will be committed and prepared for any and all rehearsals and check-ins. Any soloists will also be required to check in with the director to be sure numbers are being worked on and are acceptable for the performance, all soloists will also have to receive approval of their costuming for those numbers.
Cast assignments will be posted no later Thursday September 28th.
Rehearsal and Show Schedule
All skaters are required to be at all assigned rehearsals unless other arrangements have been made.
Soloists are expected to work on their program during their own time, although they must be at both dress rehearsals and any assigned group rehearsals. Some roles may require extra practice with the director or other skaters and will be scheduled as needed by the director.
Rehearsal Schedule : Rehearsals will be scheduled Saturdays and Sundays October thru December. There will be rehearsals Thanksgiving weekend.
Dress rehearsal: Wednesday, December 13th @ the PPL Center call time to be determined.
Show: Thursday, December 14th @ the PPL Center – call time to be determined
